5 Ways to Diversify Yourself At UMaine

These five things can help you get involved on campus, meet new friends, and become a more well-rounded person.
1. The Rec Center
~The state of the art facility offers students a chance to lift weights, play basketball, racquetball, go swimming, and even hit the sauna if you want to get a sweat on.
2. Greek Life
~Greek life can provide students with a chance to meet new friends, become more involved on campus, and meet a few sorority girls as well. Greek life provides students with an opportunity to be involved with Philanthropy as well.
3. Foster Center for Student Innovation
~the Foster center can provide a student with the knowledge, tools and inspiration to become an innovator and entrepreneur. The center offers advising, coaching, inspirational seminars, as well as an area for meetings with student companies.
4. Maine Bound Adventure Center
~Located across from the memorial union the adventure center offers a 32 foot high climbing tower, classroom space, and an outdoor area for volleyball and cookouts. A perk of being involved with the center is outdoor adventure trips such as kayaking. There are gear rentals available as well for personal trips.
5. Maine Masque Theater Group
~If you are really looking to try new things check out the theater group. The University's dramatic club opens try-outs to all students. You can swing by and sit in at any time during a practice to see what the theater world is all about.

I hope these five things provide you with a chance to have a better college experience. Being diverse as a student keeps you healthy and will make you a well rounded person.
