Rough Draft: Frightening Entertainment on UMaine Campus

ORONO, ME~ College students can create a buzz for Halloween. It becomes another excuse for college students to drink in provocative costumes and for cops to hand out summons. Yet, this Halloween the Greek life fraternity Beta Theta Pi has taken it upon themselves to take away from some of the stress for the police as well as provide the students with an opportunity to have just as much fun while being safe on the UMaine campus.
Another event on campus is the "Trail of Terror," a frightening walk on campus. For more information click here.

This Saturday Beta Theta Pi will have an "open bar" for those who are 21 to give students of legal drinking age a chance to drink during the festivities. This are will be decorated to provide an atmosphere and downstairs there will be a costume contest.

Beta president Andy Baldacci says "Halloween is always a high risk activity on campus. It gives students a safer environment for people to go to as well as 21 plus students an opportunity to have fun without going to a house party."
There are a few different things Beta needs to do for the event. Baldacci says "primarily we will be promoting the event, but there will also be sober brothers there to help keep the event under control."

The most important part of having the Halloween events on campus is it keeps students safe and that will keep the University happy as well as allow Greek life to have more events on campus.
As well as the cash bar there will be events during the day including pumpkin carving. For more information click here.

  1. hey chuck!
very good! I like how you tied it all in and will insert hyperlinks once you get them. Just one thing I think Phil's pumpkin carving takes place on friday as well as mine. I like how you site a fraternity as being helpful and pushing for safety though! nice :)
